Frequently Asked Questions
Whether you're new to yoga, exploring barre or Fire + Fusion, or simply curious about what to expect, we're here to help. Below are answers to some of the most common questions about classes, memberships, pricing, our Blue Zone-inspired philosophy, and what it's like to be part of The Alley.
Getting Started
-
Yes! Every class at The Alley is accessible to beginners.
Beginning is personal and unique to everyBODY. Our teachers offer modifications and progressions so you can move at your own pace while building confidence in your practice. If you're new to yoga, barre, Fire + Fusion, or studio classes, arrive 10–15 minutes early and introduce yourself—we're happy to help you get settled.
If you're brand new to the studio experience, ask about Flow Lab, our signature introduction designed to help you feel comfortable, confident, and connected.
-
Not at all.
The Alley is for everyBODY. We all begin somewhere, and our community is built on kindness, encouragement, and belonging. Come as you are—we'll meet you there.
-
Bring water, a sweat towel, and comfortable clothing you can move in.
Yoga mats and props are encouraged, but complimentary loaner mats and studio props are always available.
-
Yes. We recommend reserving your spot in advance through Momence, especially for popular classes and workshops.
-
Plan to arrive 10–15 minutes before class so you have time to check in, settle your belongings, and begin your practice without rushing.
Classes
-
Yes. All adult classes are heated.
Some experiences incorporate higher heat to support strength and endurance, while others are gently warmed to encourage mobility, flexibility, and relaxation. Each class description includes the approximate room temperature so you can choose what feels right for you.
-
That depends on your goals.
If you're looking for a gentle introduction, we recommend Flow Lab or Building Blocks. If you're looking for strength, movement, and energy, our teachers can help guide you toward the class that's right for you.
Not sure where to begin? Just ask. We're always happy to help.
-
Challenge is different for everyone.
Some classes emphasize strength and endurance, while others focus on mobility, restoration, or mindful movement. Our teachers are happy to recommend a class based on your experience and goals.
-
Possibly.
Always follow the guidance of your healthcare provider. Most classes include modifications, and many students practice to improve mobility, strength, and recovery.
Private sessions are also available for more individualized support. Please let your teacher know about your injury before class so they can help you move safely.
-
In many cases, yes.
Movement—especially yoga—can be incredibly supportive throughout pregnancy. Many members of our community practice before, during, and after pregnancy to support strength, mobility, and recovery.
Please consult your healthcare provider before attending and let your teacher know before class begins so they can offer appropriate modifications.
-
Yes.
While most heated classes are designed for adults and older teens, we also offer children's programming. Some younger students may also participate in select classes with a parent or guardian.
Contact the studio and we'll help guide you to the best fit.
